I was born and raised on the old Boat Barn, off the Willamette River in West Salem in 1980. Which my parents owned and ran. We lived on top of the bait shop on the river boat barn as my parents called it. I grew up playing on the river. My father ran called the Willamette River Tours. My father built boats as well. He also own Hansen's Flooring. I spent a great deal growing up on the river and playing in it. I quickly took a love to the sport Kayaks just as it was becoming popular. As the years went by. My knowledge grew quickly in the sport. I spent a few years spending all summer inviting family, friends and new people to try kayaking for the first time. I supply the kayaks and help tour guide them on different kinds of rivers and lakes. I get a real joy bringing happiness and witnessing a new experience for all these people to forever cherish. I've even started to watch their love grow for the sport as well. And that's why being an outfitter guide, is a dream job! My business is FAITH BASED... So, I offer Bible Study Kayaking Events for mental wellness through scriptures of the Holy Bible & Study Guides (Christain Fellowship).
My childhood parents family business and where we lived on the Willamette River over near Walery's Pizza to the right. Is a under pass from hwy 22 to help pin point where this was.

Shannon Valdez, created Salem Jumper Rentals for her children back in 2015. To learn to own and run their own business. They do learn team work, money handling, customer service. Making big business decisions, paying bills, saving money and guidance. Shannon has recently sold the business Salem Jumper Rentals after 10 Strong years to a new family that like to continue to legacy of running a biz with their children.
Everyone on Shannon's both side of the family going many generations back, are of family members working for themselves. Continuing the trade is nothing new to the family.
Shannon has also successfully own and operated a Lic. childcare for over 8+ plus years. That lead to the bounce house rentals. Also own and operate a graphic design business, marketing and art most of all her life. Along with being an self-contractor brand ambassador. Help in marketing and sales of many brands over 10 years. Shannon has also successfully hand created a haunted house for the community for free on going for 10 years. Shannon also substitute for schools for children with special needs, and help work for her husbands flooring business as payroll office assistant.
Shannon is a Wife and mom to 5 amazing kids and now a grandma to 4 grandchildren. Full of energy and creativeness. Family is full of ADHD individuals that are always on the go. Never a dual moment in the Valdez house hold and full of creativeness.

In memory of my Dad Kurt Hansen,
at age of 69yrs old Alzheimer's took his life on Oct 22nd 2022. My heart has been for ever broken. I know my Dad told me in the past, I must keep moving forward. I can't quit. Life doesn't stop. It's the cycle of life. I know he is resting in heaven. And I will keep pushing forward and living my dreams and keep working hard for my family as he expected me too.
My Dad's dying wish was for me to host a Kayak Paddle fundraiser to raise money to help people like him suffering from Alzheimer's. In 2023 I was able to connect with the Alzheimer's association to help me create a (paddle to end Alz). 100% of the proceeds went to the Organization to help find a cure. We raised over our goals amount of $2000.
